Courtesy System Access

Courtesy access to WVU systems is available to approved foreign nationals that need to use WVU resources while conducting research at WVU facilities. System access will generally be granted through a Sponsored Account, with access limited to only those systems to which the individual needs access. In most circumstances, this will include granting the individual a WVU email account, WVU Login credentials, and the ability to obtain a WVU-issued photo ID. An individual generally cannot be granted access for any longer than their authorized period of admission to the United States.

Individuals granted courtesy system access should be aware that it is not considered employment with WVU or WVU Research Corporation and does not indicate any future offer or opportunity of employment at WVU or WVU Research Corporation.

Foreign nationals that are physically present in the United States who need to request WVU courtesy system access should complete the Courtesy Access Request Packet [PDF] and submit it to WVU Tax Services, along with copies of all documents listed in the instructions of the Courtesy Access Request Packet. Once an individual's courtesy access request is approved by WVU Tax Services, the sponsoring department will need to submit a Sponsored Account request to WVU Information Technology Services.

Individuals who are physically outside the United States should contact Tax Services for assistance in determining their eligibility to obtain courtesy system access.
